Caliber Search specializes in search and recruiting, primarily in Finance and Accounting for direct-hire positions.  In other words, we’re a headhunter, and our specialization is in line with our background.  Our qualifications are based on prior work experience in public and private sector accounting, finance, and specialized recruiting for finance and accounting.  In addition to experience, our qualifications are supported by education and professional credentials (CPA).  Our experience enables us to understand and help define your staffing needs, along with preliminary assessment of candidate backgrounds for the position at hand.
It all typically starts with an initial conversation that discusses your hiring needs, your requirements, and your company.  These are areas we need to understand not only to target and identify the best possible candidates, but to also gain their interest in considering your position and company.  We will also confirm our fees, pro-rated guarantee, and answer any questions you may have.

Upon receiving your approval, we will get started on your search utilizing our resources, network, contacts, tools, and industry experience to identify potential candidates we feel meet the framework of your position requirements and profile.  For those candidates we identify who have interest, a resume will be forwarded for your review.

For questions you have regarding resumes we submit to you, we will do our best to answer those, or get the answer.  Any feedback or thoughts you can communicate back to us are welcomed, encouraged, and likely helpful to us for identifying profiles.  For candidates you select for interviewing, we will coordinate dates and times.  As the process continues, we will assist with candidate feedback, levels of interest, benefit information, compensation, and extension of an employment offer when the decision by you is made.  We also stand ready to assist with references or background information per the client’s request or company policy requirements.

In the end, hopefully our efforts are helpful to your making a hiring decision, extending an offer, receiving acceptance by the candidate, and being able to move forward.

We are Contingency fee based. In general, contingency search means that a search firm will collect a fee if they find and place a suitable candidate for your position. There is no cost to simply evaluate or interview our candidates as part of your search. For contingency search, the fee is paid if you hire someone we’ve referred.

We have performed Retained Search upon client request. Search assignments here are on a retainer contract basis. In this case, payments are in stages under contract and not solely dependent upon placement.

Yes, we have a pro-rated guarantee for our Direct-Hire candidates hired by companies. The pro-rated guarantee is essentially the standard direct-hire placement guarantee for contingency fee recruiting.

For example, the recruiting fee for a 90 day pro-rated guarantee is earned at the rate of 1/90th per day. If a placed candidate’s employment ends on day 45 from the starting date of employment, half (1/2) of the paid recruiting fee is earned by the recruiting company, and the other half (1/2) is available for refund or credit to the hiring company. On day 90 from the starting date of employment, the recruiting fee is fully earned by the recruiting company.

So how good are we at what we do?  Well we believe this is something you must prove.  Yes, we are confident in what we do and we will put forth our best effort. Our goal is to locate quality candidates for you in timely fashion and provide the best service possible on a consistent basis to help you make a prudent hiring decision.  If given the chance, we will do our best to earn the right to work with you in the future.  We ask for the opportunity to prove it to you.
  • Simply, to get the search process started immediately upon a hiring need, as a trusted source for candidate profiles in line with the position’s requirements. Unless a specific reason, we will not send you resumes of Controllers or CFO’s with 25 years experience for a Staff Accountant position requiring only 2 years of experience, nor vice-versa.
  • In most cases, companies understand what their needs are. However, finding and attracting the best qualified candidates for staffing needs in timely fashion can be challenging and often require assistance.
  • A company has been searching for an appropriate background, but has simply not been able to locate the desired profile or requirements.
  • A confidential search situation that requires appropriate discretion, yet needs to be acted on ASAP.
  • A specialized hiring need that requires a dedicated timely search.
  • Under a time crunch, and need to hire the best possible candidate as quickly as possible. As a Manager, your time is already stretched thin and you simply don’t have the time to start coordinating a candidate search campaign from the ground up on your own.
  • We can help facilitate a relationship between the employer and candidate from a non-threatening 3rd party position. For example, a typical leading issue that arises is employer compensation range vs. a candidate’s expectations. We hear it often, but mostly from the candidate side actually. This can be followed by tense negotiations for compensation acceptable by both sides. As a Recruiter, we can be helpful in understanding candidate compensation expectations towards the beginning of the evaluation process rather than the end. This not only typically facilitates a company’s decision making, but also the offer extension and acceptance process, and minimizes the chance for both sides spending unnecessary interview time. Our preference is for a candidate to feel excited about their new opportunity on their first day rather than remembering a stressful negotiation process they had to go through beforehand.
